1,000 track friendly suspension systems ordered from
Axiom Rail
Axiom Rail, one of the UK's largest dedicated rolling stock support companies, has received orders for 1,000 track friendly suspension system products since it was formed 15 months ago.
The milestone was reached towards the end of last year with an order by UK wagon manufacturer WH Davies for 30 AMIII bogies, which are designed to provide low bogie wear, produce less noise than conventional bogies and have high axle loads of up to 25.5 tonnes.
The systems will be manufactured at Axiom Rail's main subcontracting plant in the Czech Republic, where all suspension systems are currently made by the company.
The Axiom Rail suspension systems range also includes the TF25, TF25SA, LTF13 and the new TF25E. All suspension system products by Axiom Rail are designed to have six core elements:
- Low track forces producing low bogie wear and reduced maintenance
- Be track friendly - low track wear and allowing track access discounts where applicable
- Be freight friendly - low vertical acceleration
- Emit lower levels of noise
- Operate at high speeds
- Have high axle loads to move more product in one train movement
Paul Mckeown, Managing Director for Axiom Rail, said: "In just over a year of trading this is an amazing milestone to reach. Axiom Rail's suspension systems products offer our customers track friendly characteristics, quality and reduce maintenance costs. We deliver to our customers' reliable long-term products that provide excellent operating efficiency. With a greater emphasis on infrastructure maintenance costs across Europe, we expect demand for Axiom Rail track friendly products to remain high."
