Since the formation of EWS in 1996, it has provided rolling stock maintenance, refurbishment and leasing solutions as part of its range of services.

In 2005, EWS acquired the assets of Probotec, enabling new services for the supply of rail freight bogies and suspension systems to be provided.

This acquisition led EWS to develop a new brand for its maintenance, refurbishment, leasing solutions and suspension services. Axiom Rail was launched to unify this range of products and offer customers a complete, high quality rolling stock service built on the foundations of its range of experience.
